Project Manager – Heavy Civils & Energy Projects

Location: Projects Across Scotland - potentially UK wide
Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee heavy civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects across Scotland, with an immediate start available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civils, infrastructure or energy-related projects who is looking for long-term opportunities across Scotland. Candidates must be willing to travel or relocate depending on project requirements.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing projects from planning through to completion, with a strong understanding of programming, commercial management and the coordination of site teams and subcontractors.

Experience within the energy sector would be advantageous, particularly on substations, power infrastructure, renewable energy or transmission and distribution projects. However, candidates with a solid heavy civils background and transferable experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of heavy civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.

  • Develop, review and manage project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.

  • Oversee site teams, subcontractors and project resources to maintain productivity and progress.

  • Maintain strong commercial awareness, monitoring costs, budgets, variations and project margins.

  • Identify and manage project risks, delays and potential changes to scope.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards and project specifications.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers and senior management.

  • Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within heavy civils, civil engineering or infrastructure.

  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple work packages and subcontractors.

  • Strong understanding of project programming, planning and progress monitoring.

  • Good commercial awareness, including cost control, variations and budget management.

  • Energy sector experience advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  • Willingness to travel or relocate for projects across Scotland.

  • Available to start immediately or at short notice.

What's on Offer?

  • Immediate start available.

  • Opportunity to work across a range of heavy civils and energy infrastructure projects.

  • Projects located throughout Scotland.

  • Competitive rates or salary, dependent on experience.

  • Potential for ongoing work and future project opportunities.

If you are an experienced Project Manager with a strong heavy civils background, sound commercial awareness and the ability to manage programmes and deliver projects successfully, please apply with your up-to-date CV or get in touch to discuss the opportunities further.
