Head of Security - St. Enoch Shopping Centre - #2180695
Andersen James Group
Head of Security – St Enoch Centre, Glasgow
Lead Security at One of Glasgow's Major Retail & Leisure Destinations
We're partnering with Praxis Facilities Management to appoint an experienced Head of Security at St Enoch Centre, one of Glasgow's most prominent retail and leisure destinations.
With significant investment underway and a long-term vision for the Centre, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a substantial security operation, develop an established team and help shape the future of the destination.
About the Role
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you'll lead six Security Duty Managers and the wider directly employed security team, taking responsibility for security strategy, operational performance, crime prevention, emergency preparedness and risk management.
You'll work closely with Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, occupiers and the wider Centre Management team, ensuring security is both effective and customer-focused.
You'll also collaborate with Praxis's National Head of Security, with opportunities to contribute to wider initiatives across the growing portfolio.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has significant security management experience, ideally leading large teams and established managers.
- Combines strategic thinking with a hands-on, visible leadership style.
- Understands security risk, crime prevention, incident management and counter-terrorism, including Martyn's Law.
- Can build strong relationships with police, local authorities, occupiers and senior stakeholders.
- Has experience managing security budgets, systems, procedures and operational performance.
- Brings confidence, resilience and the ability to develop people, challenge standards and drive improvement.
Experience within shopping centres or retail property would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in security leaders from stadiums, arenas, transport hubs, major venues and other complex, high-footfall environments.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Praxis is investing in St Enoch's infrastructure, operations and people, creating an exciting opportunity for someone to make a genuine impact.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established security function, build on its existing strengths and help shape its future, while playing a key role in the ongoing development of St Enoch Centre.
The Package
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Private medical insurance and healthcare cash plan
- Company pension and life assurance
- Cycle to Work scheme and Employee Assistance Programme
The role is predominantly weekday-based, with flexibility for occasional weekend and out-of-hours working.
