Electrical Engineer – Generator Systems - £40 - £45K p.a

Candidate Criteria:

Strong commercial/industrial electrical installation experience

Electrically qualified (NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition and ECS Card)

Experience working on generator installations.

Experience within critical power, data centres or standby power environments would be highly advantageous.

Experience managing site-based engineering teams.

· Excellent fault-finding abilities.

· Experience interpreting technical and electrical drawings.

Full UK Driving Licence

Job Role:

The role is site based with travel across Scotland and occasional periods working away from home. Accommodation, meals and expenses are fully covered by the company when working away. Engineers receive door-to-door pay, regular overtime opportunities and a guaranteed 12-hour payment when working away, even if site works finish early.

Support the installation and integration of diesel and gas generator systems.

· Carry out ATS and generator changeover installations.

· Support commissioning engineers during synchronisation and load testing activities.

· Install and modify generator fuel system controls and associated monitoring equipment.

· Work alongside generator manufacturers, consultants and end users to deliver turnkey power solutions.

· Assist with fault finding and diagnostics on generator and UPS systems where required.

The position involves regular travel across Scotland and periods working away from home as project requirements dictate.Accommodation, meals and expenses are fully covered whilst working away, with excellent overtime opportunities available. Engineers also benefit from a guaranteed 12-hour payment when working away, even if less time is spent on site.

• When working away, engineers are typically guaranteed 12 hours pay per day:
• First 8 hours paid at single time
• Additional 4 hours paid at time and a half
• Saturday:
• 08:00-12:00 paid at 1.5x rate
• After 12:00 paid at 2x rate
• Sunday:
• All hours paid at 2x rate
• If less than 12 hours are worked on a weekday away from home, engineers still receive their overnight allowance equivalent to 2 hours at single rate.
