Position Details
The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide joinery services, including flexible work across minor building cross-trade skills such as tiling, glazing, drainage, and roofing, to meet NHS GG&C needs.
- Operate an efficient and effective Estates Service within healthcare facilities to ensure safe patient care delivery.
- Deliver planned maintenance, repair, and installation services that emphasize quality and value for money.
- Maintain a safe infrastructure for all building and construction-related activities.
- Assist in developing the Estates function into a customer-focused service range.
- Adopt a flexible, integrated approach to Estates Service delivery.
- Hold a recognized and registered EITB or CITB (or equivalent) craft apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification.
- Be a competent tradesman with extensive relevant experience, preferably including healthcare sector experience.
Department Overview
The Estates Department ensures continuous, high-quality healthcare by maintaining a safe, comfortable, and compliant built environment, supporting clinical care through maintenance, reactive repairs, and critical equipment installation and commissioning.
The department also contributes to managing healthcare-associated infections by ensuring compliance with national standards and audits.
Additional Responsibilities
Provide technical support and guidance in designing and implementing clinical service developments, including preparing specifications and tender documents, and managing projects from planning to execution.
