As a Principal/Associate Geospatial Consultant at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multi-disciplinary projects across Water, Energy, Earth, and Environment. You will join a growing team of geospatial professionals committed to driving digital transformation and advancing our geospatial capabilities.
In this role, you will lead the geospatial elements of complex, multi-disciplinary projects, applying your expertise to improve project delivery. Your work will help clients unlock efficiencies across programmes, visualise and interpret complex data, and make data-informed decisions.
Collaborating with a dynamic team of subject matter experts, you will champion the full potential of GIS to enhance decision-making processes, streamline workflows, and deliver measurable value to both internal and external clients. You will play a key role in identifying and realising opportunities through innovative geospatial solutions.

Responsibilities will include…
- Lead the GIS element on major projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Drive digital transformation through innovative and client-focussed geospatial solutions across Water, Energy, Earth, and Environment
- Manage programme and resource effectively, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with established standards, scope, and budget
- Understand client needs to provide technical advice and solutions, including preparing proposals and bids to support business development
- Manage and develop a technical team with a customer-focused approach to quality and service delivery
- Lead the development and documentation of efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services to clients.
- Innovate and self-motivate in delivering high-quality solutions
- Occasionally travel to other offices for business development and project meetings
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Core principles of GIS and GI data management and an ability to apply them across various sectors
- Proven experience in managing and deploying Esri Enterprise solutions, including:
- Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Mobile Apps
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise FME (Form and Flow) for data integration and automation
- Experienced in driving digital transformation initiatives, including the integration of Microsoft business applications (e.g. PowerApps) into geospatial services
- Skilled in least one of the following to develop custom geospatial applications, including Esri APIs where relevant: Python, JavaScript, SQL, and R/Shiny
- Proficient in utilising Microsoft Azure services for cloud-based solutions (or similar)
- Successfully leading a small team to deliver technical tasks and geospatial services
- Customer focussed approach to quality and service, with the ability to identify value-add opportunities by integrating GIS
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to developing new skills and keeping up to date with technology
