Fantastic opportunity to join CMS as an Events Executive. In this dynamic role, you’ll play an integral part in delivering a wide range of high-quality events - from conferences and client seminars to networking receptions, parties, and other key initiatives that support our business goals. This is a great chance to contribute to a busy, collaborative events team at the heart of a leading international firm.

About Us

CMS is a Future Facing firm with more than 80 offices in over 45 countries and 5,800+ lawyers worldwide. We combine deep local market understanding with a global perspective. We are passionate about building strong relationships with our clients, our people, and the communities we work in.

We take a bold, dynamic, and agile approach to ensure our clients are able to face the future with confidence. We are driven by emerging technologies such as generative AI and readily embrace the possibilities it opens up for developing new and better ways of working. Our aim is to inspire, impact and support our clients and our people, helping them to maximize their potential and thrive.

About The Role

Reporting into the Events Co-Team Lead, you’ll work closely with the UK Events Managers, providing hands-on support across a variety of in-person events, with occasional involvement in virtual events as well.

In this role, you can expect to get involved in a variety of work including:

  • Manage and run in-person events across all three Scotland offices, including onsite support as needed.
  • Handle event administration, ensuring accurate data and analysis are recorded in the CRM.
  • Manage Scotland’s events calendar end-to-end, collaborating with fee earners and Marketing/BD teams to deliver innovative event advice.
  • Work with stakeholders to define event objectives and oversee the full event lifecycle: planning, budgets, vendors, onsite/virtual management, and post-event analysis.
  • Communicate events effectively across the business to maximise collaboration opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support for both in-person and virtual events.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.

About You

We will invest in your ongoing training and development to support your professional goals and help you to thrive in your role from day one. Our opportunities are open to all suitably qualified applicants, so to be considered for this role, you must meet the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working in law or professional services, with a good understanding of the legal market and its terminology.
  • Proven experience managing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, delivering all stages to a high standard, within budget, and handling competing deadlines and changing needs.
  • Strong project management and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • The ability to work effectively with and influence stakeholders across the business, understanding the wider business context and providing practical solutions.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and data protection regulations relevant to events, along with working knowledge of CRM and eMarketing platforms.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, accommodating events that may take place outside normal business times.
  • A proactive mindset to identify improvements in event processes and supporting technologies.
