Join us as an Enablement engineer and be involved in a team focussing on an internal service provided to our software engineering population. In this role, you would be able to leverage your previous software engineering experience and your ability to coach and support others.

This is a great role for a software engineer looking to move away from a day to day coding role and also focus on teaching and supporting stakeholders.

To be successful as an Enablement Engineer at this level, you should have:


  • Experience of software development in Java; Python; C# or equivalent and CI/CD pipeline construction.
  • Experience of building collaborative relationships with wide range of technical colleagues.
  • Clear and enthusiastic communicator who can encourage, educate, and influence others and is generous and patient when sharing knowledge.

  • Passion and interest in modern software technologies and methodologies, especially DevSecOps.
  • Quickly deciphering and comprehending the technical outputs of others.
  • Delivering technology solutions within a regulated or highly controlled environment.

This role will be based out of our Glasgow office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities


  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
